Smiley Children Provides Aid to Flood Victims

Smiley Children Society, an international non-governmental organization, has generously donated eight bales of clothing and 300 blankets to residents affected by recent floods in P.Gannavaram and Amalapuram. Prudhvi Moses, the President of Smiley Children Society, stated that the aid was provided following an assessment of the disaster's impact. "We have delivered this support based on the figures provided by the government and civil society's rapid assessment team," she said. "However, it appears that the number has increased compared to the initial estimates."

Pammi Satyanarayana, the Secretary of the Amalapuram district, expressed his gratitude for the donations and encouraged other charitable organizations to do the same. He noted that food and shelter remain challenges for the affected families. "This support is invaluable, as it addresses their immediate needs while we consider resettlement plans for them," Satyanarayana said. According to a representative from Smiley Children Society in Andhra Pradesh, the organization also plans to provide support to train disaster management committees at the district level in East Godavari.
